Photoshop LAB Color: The Canyon Conundrum and Other Adventures in the Most Powerful Colorspace
Buckle your seatbelt for this one. It's a ride that you will never forget, that is if you can make it to the end.
For me this book started out with a certain intrigue. From there it was a roller coaster ride. One chapter would lead me to an exhilarating aha moment, only to have the next chapter leave me scratching my head. Occasionally I found myself reading the same paragraph over and over. A couple of times I let out a yell of frustration. But then I just kept going only to find myself laughing over the miracle of discovery.
Dan Margulis never seems to do much of anything traditionally. Nor does he seem to think like any other human I know. But I have to say; his material is worth reading, and his classes worth attending.
He's one of a kind in his Photoshop methods, but really does have some cool insight worth tapping into.
I recommend this book for advanced (or want-to-be-advanced) Photoshop users. It's not for the faint of heart but well worth the adventure. I use Dan's LAB Curves, one way or the other, on almost every photo I enhance.
